September 20, 2008 - Laura Dolley, Global Operations Analyst for the IBM Corporation, has known that she wanted to work in corporate America since she was in junior high. Although interested in singing and music, she decided to go to college and major in Accounting. She has now been in the accounting and finance field for 31 years.
Laura Dolley earned a MBA from the University of Phoenix and is currently finishing her PhD in Training and Performance Improvement. She looks at her education as a triangle; accounting being the base, her MBA the middle, and the PhD as the peak. All tied together through business. Accounting is the application, the MBA the theory and the Training & Performance Improvement focuses on enhancing the process through management, leadership and process development.
Because she is very goal oriented, Ms. Dolley tends to focus on several goals at a time. She is focused on being a good role model to her 14 year old daughter and 10 year old son, as well as being focused on completing her doctoral education and moving into a new work arena.
On a more personal level, Laura Dolley is a soloist for her church and also sings for a variety of different events each year. She is also an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys participation in various sports. She enjoys golf, racquetball, skiing, swimming, and aerobics.
