Jim Eldridge, Chief of Police for the City of Algood, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.

Nashville, TN (1888PressRelease) July 24, 2009 - The selection recognizes Jim Eldridge's commitment to excellence in the field of Law Enforcement.

Jim Eldridge, a Putnam County High School graduate and past attendee of the Nashville, Tennessee Police Academy has been practicing law enforcement for the last 32 years.

At the age of 18, Chief Eldridge began his career with the Overton County Sheriff's Department. He was the youngest person at that time to ever complete the academy. As chief of police, Eldridge commands a department in all aspects of law enforcement for the city. He has initiated and commanded the Putnam County Sheriff's Special Services Division for 25 years, as well as the Traffic Division, and has been in various supervisory positions since 1997. He also maintains the budget and sees that the police officers under him are keeping the law and peace in the community. He became a certified Police Instructor for Putnam County in 1987. "I have been very fortunate to have supervisors that supported me and allowed me to do my job," Eldridge said. He has also credited much of his success to the training academy and numerous other training classes that he has received throughout his career.

Chief Eldridge is a member of the Tennessee Association of Police Chiefs and the National Association of Chiefs of Police. He speaks publically within the community and for local neighborhood watches. Eldridge is a volunteer with Masters Rest Home and numerous organizations relating to Muscular Dystrophy and Alzheimer's.
