June 23, 2009 - The selection recognizes David J. Clark's commitment to excellence in the Retail industry.
Mr. David J. Clark, who earned his Bachelors Degree in Journalism in 2003 from the University of South Carolina, has been working for Wal-Mart for the past 14 years, beginning in 1995 when he was just 16 years old.
After being promoted to Co-Manager in 2009, Mr. David J. Clark began to dedicate more of his time and efforts to team leadership. Helping to run a multi-million dollar business is no easy task, therefore good budgeting skills, properly staffing the store and working the sales floor are extremely important. Keeping track of inventory levels, profitability and customer complaints are also a daily ritual. According to Clark, the most important part of his day is teaching and training assistant managers. Being fortunate enough to work for some really good store managers and assistant managers has given him the experience he needs to climb the ladder and move up in the company. He also said that working with people on a "large scale" and getting to meet new people everyday truly inspires him to be successful.
Mr. Clark hopes to run his own store in the next few years, hoping that all the training and time he has put into the business will soon pay off. "There are no limits with my company. It seems like the more I learn and grow with Wal-Mart, the more I want to do," he said.
Mr. Clark was awarded with an Assistant Manager of the Month Award for his district in December, 2004 and has been included numerous times in Wal-Mart World for his successes.
In his spare time, David enjoys golf, basketball, jogging and exercise.
