October 24, 2007 - Clearwater, FL, – Just days ago the Tampa Bay Business Journal released its annual “Fast Fifty” – the veritable list of the fastest-growing companies in the Tampa Bay area. PostcardMania, a direct mail postcard marketing firm based in Clearwater, landed the list at no. 24 -- their 2nd year in a row to make the list as one of the 50 Tampa Bay companies contributing to the area’s growth.
Stuart Rogel, the Chair of the Tampa Bay Partnership spoke at the luncheon, congratulating the companies on their expansion quoting certain collected statistics about the region. Just over the past 5 years, Tampa Bay has created more net new jobs (217,700) than Atlanta, Charlotte Dallas, Jacksonville, and Raleigh-Durham combined. Nearly 15 years ago, the region had 3 million people. This spring, the area went over the 4 million mark – another stellar statistic in growth. Tampa Bay is now the 12th largest media market in the country.
The Fast 50 Companies are in industries from animals to electricity: Extensys Inc. at no. one; Power Design at no. 7; Lifestyle Family Fitness at no. 10; Sharn Veterinary at no. 14; on down to Quality Plywood Specialists, Inc. at no. 50. Even the 50th company on the list made 22.2 million in revenue in 2006 with a 25.5% change from 2004 – 2006.
