September 25, 2009 - Miami, FL - BIGSTAR.TV is proud to join the Intel Corporations’s Widget Channel community and be one of the showcased TV Widgets at next week's 2009 Intel Developer Forum (Intel Developer Forum) in San Francisco, CA.
“Our goal for this venture is to help push the independent film market into new frontiers helping us to showcase award winning indie films directly in consumers' homes” says Xavi Dalmau, President & CEO, of BIGSTAR.tv. “We're pleased to announce that our widget will come with numerous free short films, trailers of up and coming features and eventually our entire library of indie films.”
In 2008, Intel released plans for Widget Channel, a software framework optimized for TV and related consumer electronics devices that use Intel® CE media processors. Widget Channel will allow consumers to enjoy rich Internet applications designed for the TV while watching their favorite TV programs.
TV Widgets are small Internet applications designed to complement and enhance the traditional TV watching experience and bring content, information and community features available on the Internet within easy reach of the remote control.
TV Widgets enable consumers to engage in a variety of experiences, such as watching videos, tracking their favorite stocks or sports teams, interacting with friends, or staying current on news and information. Incorporation of the BIGSTAR.tv Widget will further allow consumers to now stream and deliver high quality, and high definition Independent films directly to the TV, DVD or Blu-ray Disc player.
