  • (1888PressRelease) March 21, 2014 - JOHOR BAHRU, Malaysia - Top Link announced that the Best Practices of Pressure Vessel & Other Pressure Equipment will be held on 23-27 June 2014 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This workshop will be presented by Mr Kamran Mokhtarian who has 40 years of experience in design/ fabrication/ inspection/ repair of pressure vessels and performing technical consulting for many prestigious oil and gas and engineering companies like Exxon, Shell, BP, Petrobras, PetroCanada, Syncrude and many others.

Pressure vessel technology remains a key focus area for the refining industry as a serious problem as it will cause a shutdown of the unit. The challenges of managing pressure vessel is pressure differential as it might lead to catastrophic. This is why pressure vessel design, manufacture and operation are regulated by engineering authorities backed by legislation.

This advanced course provides requirements applicable to design, fabrication, inspection, testing and either internal and external pressure exceeding 15 psig. Specific requirement apply to several classes of material used in pressure vessel construction, and also to fabrication methods such as welding, forging and brazing. It contains mandatory and non mandatory appendices detailing supplementary design criteria, nondestructive examination and inspection acceptance standards.

What can be learned from this workshop?
    - Background of the code rules
    - Major codes ASME B&PV sections VIII to more optimized design and fabrication
    - All necessary precaution in ordering, basic calculation, fabricating and inspecting pressure equipment in an efficient practice
    - Calculations for some of the loadings and situations not addressed by the Code
    - Cross-referencing to internal and external code requirements
    - All basic vessel calculations
    - API's requirements during inspection, repairs and alterations of pressure vessel equipment
    - Welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and welder performance qualifications (WPQ)
    - Preparing design specifications, design reports, data reports and other documentation
    - Evaluating the differences between the rules of Division 1 and 2, and learning about
