SMIDGITS were originally created as a small comedy driven podcast series in the same vein as Saturday Night Live, and Mad TV. However, because of the brand’s growing appeal, it plans on diversifying their content this year, to perform more like a television network.
Kelly Schwarze, president of VDE and creator of Smidgits made the following statements regarding the 'birth' of a Smidgit. “We're usually sitting around a table, talking about something funny and it will snowball into, 'Hey, that would make a GREAT Smidigit!' It’s a collaborative effort...We get different opinions and ideas about things which in turn help the variety aspect of what we do. Veoh has given us a lot of opportunities we didn't have 6 months ago."
