April 18, 2007 - Airing every Sunday, the podcast centers around a passion for drinking better beer and raising awareness and education for the craft beer industry in Nashville and across the country.
“People don’t understand that beer is just as rich in history, variety and possibility as wine or other social beverages”, notes Justin Davis, co-host of the new podcast. “We often tell people that beer can pair better with food than wine can a lot of times – that tends to change their mind”.
Podcasts are like internet radio shows, available in thousands of subject areas, and are almost always free to download. Users can download the podcasts using applications such as iTunes, and listen either from their computer or on an mp3 player such as an iPod. Davis On Draft is one of only a few podcasts about craft beer, and the only one broadcasting out of Nashville.
Davis notes that both he and his co-host and wife, Mollie Davis, are simply beer enthusiasts that are trying to get more people to drink better beer.
“What we want to do is help people get more familiar with wide range of beer out there”, Davis notes. “Simply put, the more people who drink better beer, the more will be available for everyone – it’s a win-win situation”.
