January 27, 2009 - In the beginning of January, the Better Business Bureau, an agency that supports Merchant Resources International, upgraded its rating system.
“We decided to change with the times so we could give consumers a better snapshot of a trustworthy business,” said Steve Cox, vice-president of communications for the nonprofit's national umbrella organization, the Council of Better Business Bureaus, during an interview with Business Week.
Before the change, the BBB gave companies a grade of either “satisfactory" or "unsatisfactory.” Now, the bureau gives all of the companies that it represents letter grades from A+ to F in order to help consumers decide which companies it would like to do business with.
Merchant Resources International, a company that provides merchant cash advances for small business owners currently has an A- on the Better Business Bureau website.
According to the BBB a letter grade of A- is, “An excellent rating. A company with this rating may not rate higher because of a greater number of rate-lowering factors, but we do not consider them to be factors that would likely adversely affect consumer transactions.”
The bureau also states, “We have received no complaints about this company.”
“…we are satisfied that it honors its commitment. The company has agreed to uphold our accreditation standards, which include a commitment to act in accordance with ethical business practices and to respond to customer complaints,” as stated on the BBB website.
