November 22, 2008 - Bangkok, Thailand – A Dutch man on holidays in Thailand was terrified to find that he was having a heart attack on the very first day of his vacation. After successful treatment at Bangkok Hospital, he is actually thankful that it happened in Thailand, rather than his home country.
'Harry' was around 100km outside Bangkok when he realized he was having a heart attack, on the very first day of his vacation. He says the hospital took immediate action to transport him to the hospital, in a fully equipped, ''ultramodern'' heart ambulance. The attending cardiologist was highly praised by Harry, who says that he did everything possible to make his journey painless and comfortable.
Harry says that the care he experienced at the hospital, and the staff skill levels, are of the highest class he has seen. He believes that doctors and nurses in his home country make more mistakes, due to the lower time allotted to patients, and they are also less friendly.
Chris Sharasuvana, the hospital's E-Marketing manager, says that this is a familiar story. "We serve thousands of international tourists a year, but not all of them intend to come to Thailand for medical treatment".

After surgery and placement of stents, Harry was transferred to a medium care unit. He was assigned a multi-lingual physiotherapist, and a program commenced to ensure that he and his wife would be able to return to the Netherlands when the time for their flight arrived.
