Rochester, NY (1888PressRelease)
December 02, 2006 - ALFRED, N.Y. – Alfred Wrestling Entertainment, the world's first college-sanctioned wrestling organization, proudly presents its December supershow "Darkest Hour" on Saturday, December 9 at 8:00pm at Davis Gym on the campus of Alfred University. Admission is free and all are invited to this family-friendly event.
All of AWE's top wrestlers will be in action at the last supershow of the calendar year. In the main event, World Women's Wrestling Champion Minerva will defend her title against number-one ranked challenger Freeze. The diminutive and diva-like champion will be backed up by her towering bodyguard La Viuda Negra, while her opponent Freeze will be seconded by Lynx, a former World Women's Wrestling Champion who just recovered from a fractured clavicle.
Also on December 9, Continental Americas Wrestling Champion Akki Faia will defend his title against Budd, the fun-loving high-flyer representing the High Rollers. The masked man from Kagoshima, Japan will face his first real test since winning the championship last month.
The World Tag Team Wrestling Championship will also be on the line at "Darkest Hour" as champions Joe Staz and Marty Whaley take on arch-rivals Lexx and Papi. The champions are solid fan favorites, but amateur wrestling standout Lexx seeks to spoil their fun and take their titles on December 9.
Countless other AWE wrestlers will be in action on December 9. The streetwise skater Surge, the bizarre, megalomaniacal Tyrant, the self-described "King Of Pain" Ozzy Mac, and "The Hardcore Outlaw" Phil Holliday are all scheduled to compete at "Darkest Hour."
