July 06, 2007 - Phillip Zweig knew that people liked word games. He also knew that some people -- especially kids -- didn't like waiting their turns or devoting an entire evening to playing those games. So Zweig came up with Wordigo, a crossword-style game in which every player has a separate board, and everyone plays simultaneously, racing the 7 minute timer to get the highest-scoring combination of letter tiles.
Zweig tried the game out in local schools during development, and found that kids and teachers both loved it. It's educational and fun at the same time, and has won both the Parents' Choice Gold award and the Games Magazine Best 100 Games award.
Zweig will be demonstrating the new software version of the game at the Educational Fair at the Education Station in Ozark Center Point Place on July 18th.
The Educational Fair is the opportunity for area teachers to see the new classroom materials, network with other teachers, and take home free goodies for their classrooms. This year they will also be able to play the new Wordigo.
