May 27, 2008 - Avolutia, LLC dba Shelby Wireless, a provider of Internet Services in Shelby County, KY announced the acquisition of Elk Creek Internet, a Taylorsville based Internet Service Provider from Chandler Enterprises Inc. The acquisitions continues Shelby Wireless’ mission to build wireless networks in emerging markets in Spencer and Shelby counties.
“Elk Creek is a perfect match for our network, and will increase our coverage in areas that currently do not have broadband access,” said Chuck Hogg, President of Shelby Wireless. “Shelby Wireless is positioning itself to grow in Spencer, Anderson, Nelson, Franklin, Henry, and Oldham counties.” With this acquisition Shelby Wireless is also adding Dial-Up Internet Access and High Speed DSL.
Elk Creek Internet was started in 2003 by President Chris Chandler with a mission to deliver broadband Internet to underserved areas of Spencer County, Kentucky. “Shelby Wireless’ breadth of knowledge in wireless technology, along with their redundant network topology will enhance the quality of service for all our customers.” said Chandler. “Working with Chuck and Gerard over the past few weeks, I’ve become very confident in their ability to continue to build-out and support Internet services in our community.”
This acquisition will position Shelby Wireless as one of Kentucky’s largest fixed wireless broadband providers. Using both Licensed and Unlicensed frequencies, Shelby Wireless provides internet access to over 600 square miles. 1 out of every 15 families in Shelby County currently has Shelby Wireless Internet Service.
