July 05, 2007 - San Francisco, CA – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention declared autism as the fastest-growing developmental disability, occurring as frequent as one in 150 births. Although the National Institute of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reassures parents that there is no connection between autism and immunizations, the recent rise in autism diagnoses has some individual researchers and parents questioning this information.
On July 12, 2007, 9am PST / 12pm EST, Preschool Rock Moms Internet radio show hosts will discuss this highly controversial topic with Lisa Jo Rudy, autism expert and About.com Autism writer. Rudy will talk about autism, including signs and symptoms, screening and diagnosis, and most importantly, the theories associated with the immunization connection.

Lisa Jo Rudy is the Autism Guide for About.com and the mother of an autistic child. Since 1992, Rudy has developed hands-on, interactive educational materials for clients including The National Science Foundation, The National Geographic Society, Scholastic Publishing, and Time, Inc. Rudy holds a Bachelor of Arts in the Humanities from Wesleyan University and a Masters in Divinity from Harvard University.
