December 04, 2007 - United States of America -- Smart, sassy, thoughtful opinions are what you’ll find when you visit author-photographer Halli Casser-Jayne’s new blog at www.ablahblahblog.com.
Recently launched, Ms. Casser-Jayne’s focus is the American political stage, timely in this season of pre-election political mania.
“My friends and associates pushed me to do this. I’ve been spewing my opinions for years. Apparently everyone thought I had something relevant to say,” Ms. Casser-Jayne said in a recent interview. “I must have been gifted a hundred beautiful notebooks with cards saying, ‘Please, write this stuff down and share it with the world!’”
A foreign correspondent in the 1980’s, Ms. Casser-Jayne reported from war-torn El Salvador and guerrilla-infested Guatemala. She wrote and produced the six-hour rockumentary on the seminal 60’s band the DOORS, She collaborated with Door’s drummer, John Densmore, on his now celebrated autobiography, RIDERS ON THE STORM.
Her current book, STILL LIFE, images of Antietam, (see: www.hcjstudios.com) features the first serious collection of photographs to be taken of Antietam Battlefield since Alexander Gardner’s 1866 book, “Sketchbook of the Civil War.” The 152-page volume is a deeply emotional look at the single bloodiest day in American history.
Eminent historian, Dr. Joseph L. Harsh says the book “is for those who reach out to feel the past.” Antietam National Battlefield Superintendent, John Howard, who wrote the book’s introduction, calls the work “a refreshing viewpoint. STILL LIFE, images of ANTIETAM, which sells for $32.95, is available at amazon.com and at leading bookstores throughout the country.
Ms. Casser-Jayne will be releasing her new book, OKUSOBOKA-POSSIBILITY with a foreword by His Majesty Rukirabasaija King Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I in spring 2008. (see: www.hallicasser-jayne.com).
