NEWARK - Garden State Apartments' third general meeting was conducted on August 9th, 2007. It's speakers included Richard C. Vaill, Senior Vice President for the Excalibur 1031 Group, LLC and Steven B. Shaiman, a practicing self-employed accountant as well as a financial advisor with Calton & Associates, Inc.
Richard Vaill was born and raised in Staten Island, NY. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1988 and was commissioned an Officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Rich served in Operation Sharp Edge in Liberia in 1989 and in Operation Desert Storm in 1990. He left active duty in 1993, and continued serving in the Marine Corps Reserves until November 2005. Rich attained the rank of Major, and is also a graduate of the Marine Corps Command and Staff College.

Rich has over 14 years experience in the financial industry, and currently holds his Series 7 and 66 licenses. Prior to joining the Excalibur 1031 Group, LLC in 2004, Rich worked at Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor and Operations Manager, and at JP Morgan as an Operations Manager.

Rich is responsible for business development for the Northeast Division of the Excalibur 1031 Group, LLC. In addition, he holds his New Jersey Real Estate License.
Steven B. Shaiman is based in Livingston, NJ. Steve has served both Northern and Central New Jersey for the past 25 years.

Steve is a two time Rutgers graduate attaining both his BA and MBA degrees in 1981 & 82 respectively. He spends much of his professional time, on the tax aspects of real estate investing in general, and 1031 tenant-in-common (TIC) deals in particular.

You can view his recent article on TIC's by visiting Gardenstateapartments.com. Steve also recently completed a special symposium on TIC's sponsored by the NNN Realty Advisors Real Estate Institute.

During the event, the speakers discussed 1031s. They also explained how to earn more and pay less taxes. The crowd was composed of an influential group of professionals in the real estate industry. A smaller turn out led this meeting to be more like a discussion between the crowd and the speakers. All those in attendance received $100 off next 1031 exchange.

Garden State Apartments thanks all of those who attended our third general meeting, and hopes to see them again at the next meeting on September 13th, 2007. Next month’s event will be an overview of the NJ market. Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance Online at www.GardenStateApartments.com and receive a special discount!
