  • (1888PressRelease) July 11, 2008 - When a passion to serve the youth in Atlanta is coupled with an organization’s commitment to providing resources to strengthen today’s family what do you get? A powerful and exciting Family Summit & Expo hosted by the Atlanta Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce and Teach One Academy that will take place at Zoo Atlanta, on July 26th from 8am - 3:30pm at 800 Cherokee Ave. This partnership is a result of a collaborative desire and commitment to providing resources, services and information that will strengthen communities and the families that live in metropolitan Atlanta.

    Themed to motivate and inspire change, the Family Summit is focused on Rebuilding, Restoring and Repositioning - a premise that is simultaneously reflective and forward thinking regarding the Black experience. Dr. Melonie Hill, VP of Community Affairs for the AMBCC comments, “Our theme serves as a mantra to remembering the fight of our past, acknowledging the efforts of our present and equipping our generations with solutions for the future,” she continues, “With such a robust purpose, we felt it only fitting to partner with Teach One Academy, who will aid us in our efforts to effectively encourage, empower and significantly impact the family unit.”

    Jennifer Toussaint, Executive Director of Teach One Academy shares, “We are excited to partner with the Atlanta Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce. This collaboration creates a strong alliance and helps to fill a gap within the family structure. This will be a fun and informative event for youth and parents alike.”

    The Family Summit, which is free to pre-registered individuals, will be the hub of interactive activities, empowering seminars, vendors, showcases and fun-filled excitement that will also include celebrity entertainment, friendly competitions, food, cash prizes and an opportunity to register for a celebrity mentoring session with one of Atlanta’s platinum Hip Hop recording artist.

    Sponsorships are available for this event. Sponsors will receive recognition for contributions on all press related and marketing materials and will have an opportunity to showcase their business during the event. Local media will be on site providing media coverage.
