July 07, 2007 - Asylum Gallery Members Show in July
From June 30th through July 29th, a variety of artwork by the membership of Asylum Gallery will fill the walls at HQ: Headquarters for the Arts, 1719 25th St., Sacramento (25th & R Sts.). A 2nd Saturday reception is planned on July 14 from 6 to 9 pm. Gallery hours have changed to noon to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays and by appointment.
Asylum Gallery members are Cherie Hacker, Linda Katzdorn, William Obernesser, Terri Ramirez, Marguerite Schaffron and Ann Tracy. The media exhibited will range from mixed media painting, to abstract photography to print-making to drawing to black and white photography and digital art.
Asylum Gallery at HQ, a partnership of local artists, was founded by Ann Tracy in March of 2005, as one of the original groups which formed HQ: Headquarters for the Arts located at 25th & R Sts., in midtown Sacramento. Other members of HQ include the Sacramento Poetry Center and the Capital Film Alliance.
Upcoming shows at Asylum include the work of Dwight Head (Aug 4-Sept 2), an international Mail Art Show (Sept 8 – 30), new work by Terri Ramirez (Oct 6- Nov 4) and the 3rd Annual Holiday Print Show which will be juried for the first time by Armando Cid and Katherine Venterelli (November 10-December 22).
