  • (1888PressRelease) March 12, 2014 - Award winning robotics & automation supplier, Astech Projects, will be exhibiting on stand C1 at the ELRIG (European Laboratory Robotics Interest Group) Research & Innovation- Impact into Cancer, trade show held at Telford International Centre, Telford on 11th March 2014.

The Research and Innovation 2014 conference will be the first ELRIG conference to specifically focus on the impact of technology on a disease area, namely cancer.

Invasive cancer is the leading cause of death in the developed world and the number of instances worldwide continues to grow annually. Because of this, and the heterogeneous nature of the disease, many academics and companies focus their activities to the study of the disease and the development of new and improved therapeutics. This in turn drives technological innovation, and it is this that will be the focus of this R&I conference.

The three tracks of this meeting; Cancer: New Approaches to Understanding the Disease, Technologies and Innovation in Phenotypic Screening, and Natural Product Screening and Development, and the Vendor Exhibition, will provide delegates with an insight into some of the cutting edge science and the technologies being utilised in the study of cancer.

Astech will be presenting its systematic 4-Step approach to the development of custom laboratory automation. Composed of four key steps - client consultation, concept design proposal, proof of concept and detailed design, manufacture & testing, Astech can provide a comprehensive phased development process, which starts with an in-depth client consultation. Astech will be offering initial consultations and a concept design proposal free of charge to all ELRIG attendees.

Established to design, develop and deliver affordable innovative bespoke solutions Astech's expert engineers are well positioned to automate any laboratory workflow or process. To find out more or to discuss your automation requirements, Astech's engineers will be available during the ELRIG 2014 exhibition on stand C1.
