The Accounting Degree also prepares students for possible certifications in Tax Preparer, Microsoft Office User Specialist-Word for Windows, Microsoft User Specialist-Access, and Internet Commerce/Management.
The Bachelor Degree in Accounting aims at providing graduates with an understanding of a wide range of core concepts in business and accounting and how they relate to professional accounting. This includes understanding the principles of federal taxation, auditing, and accounting for small businesses and corporations. At CCSD, the Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is also offered with a Fast Track or accelerated option. This allows you to graduate in as little as 36 months. The curriculum includes Accounting Fundamentals, Payroll Accounting, Computerized Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Tax Accounting, Finance, Management, and Business Law among other subjects. Certification training in Tax Preparer, Microsoft Office User Specialist-Word for Windows, Microsoft User Specialist-Access, Internet Commerce/Management is also possible with this degree.
All students need complete an enrollment agreement and go through financial aid to declare how they plan to finance their education. A campus interview is also required. For those students who are in need of economic assistance, the college also offers recommendations on financial aid, free of cost. Classes at CCSD start every month and students are required to attend an orientation program prior to the beginning of the program.
The Associate and Bachelor Degrees in Accounting offered by California College San Diego are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).
