  • (1888PressRelease) March 06, 2014 - DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARUN), a leading provider of next-generation network access solutions for the mobile enterprise, today announced the appointment of IT industry veteran Bashar Bashaireh as regional sales director, Gulf & Pakistan. In this new role, Bashar is responsible for developing and executing strategies to expand Aruba's customer base and capitalize on the huge business opportunities arising as a result of the current mobility and Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) market trends.

Bashar brings over twenty two years of professional experience in the Middle East ICT market, holding senior management positions in various renowned companies and successfully building Start-ups. He joins Aruba from security firm Fortinet where he served as regional director for Middle East and Pakistan. Prior to that, he held the secretary general position at Jordan's Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT) for a period of two years with the responsibility of developing the Jordanian ICT sector in collaboration with public and private stakeholders. His earlier positions include regional sales manager at 3Com Middle East, regional manager MENA at CyberGuard Corporation and various business development and management positions with leading system integrators across the region. Bashar holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan.

Wolfram Fischer, vice president EMEA at Aruba Networks says, "We have identified the Gulf and Pakistan as high growth markets for the company and were looking for a sales leader capable of driving the growth of our company in this region. Bashar is a well-known and highly respected figure in the Middle East IT market. With an outstanding track record in sales, a strong technical background, an acute insight into the nuances of the regional market and a result-oriented management approach, he is the perfect candidate to lead our expansion efforts."

The appointment is part of Aruba's road-map to expand its footprint across the region. In 2012 Aruba recruited two new value-added distributors (VADs), FVC and METRA and together with its existing VADs Oxygen and Hasoub, the company has seen growing success. Similarly, Aruba Networks added a new VAD in Turkey, Neteks, besides existing VAD Prolink. The company is also making concerted efforts to educate regional enterprises and help them address the challenges of enterprise mobility through a roadshow across four major cities including Dubai, Riyadh, Doha and Istanbul. It is constantly brining innovation to the region and recently launched its Cloud Wi-Fi solution during Gitex 2013. Aruba's flagship 802.11ac Wireless LAN solution is the first in the industry to deliver gigabit Wi-Fi combined with the device density and application intelligence required by today's Wi-Fi networks.

"It is a very exciting time for me to be joining a company like Aruba, an established technology leader in enterprise mobility solutions. With high rates of adoption across tablet and smartphone devices throughout the region, companies are looking for solutions like the ones Aruba offers to address security, efficiency and reliability of their networks. With the right mix of innovative and industry leading technology, continued market education, partner enablement and enhanced brand visibility through strategic marketing initiatives, we are ideally positioned to capitalize on the huge market opportunities," concludes Bashar Bashaireh.
