Artistic Surfaces Launches Two New Divisions For Decorative Concrete And Lithocrete Paving

Award-winning custom flooring company Artistic Surfaces is launching two new divisions. Acclaimed for custom terrazzo flooring, Artistic Surfaces is the only lithocrete licensee for the state of Florida.

Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) June 30, 2009 - Award-winning custom flooring company Artistic Surfaces, acclaimed for its custom terrazzo flooring in the Miami International Airport South Terminal, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and Fontainebleau Resort Miami Beach, announced today that it has added two new divisions to capitalize on the emerging demand for interior and exterior decorative concrete and Lithocrete® flooring. The new divisions mark the company’s entry as the exclusive Lithocrete licensee for the state of Florida and the area’s most experienced design applicators for decorative concrete concepts.

Heading the new division is Martin Gonzalez, a 30-year industry veteran who has relocated to South Florida from the West coast with the same nine-person team of craftsmen responsible for the majority of concrete concepts at the Wynn, Bellagio and Caesars Palace resorts in Las Vegas. Under the direction of Gonzalez, a master in multi-international, large-scale decorative concrete applications, the divisions will provide expertise in residential and commercial decorative concrete and Lithocrete applications.

“We are expanding our offerings to meet demand for innovative, environmentally-friendly flooring concepts in Florida and beyond,” said Harvey Namm, owner of Artistic Surfaces. “Lithocrete is extremely popular in California, which is a leader in design innovation yet relatively unknown in Florida and the eastern portion of the United States. Our company has ambitious plans to bring the eco-conscious technique to the forefront of our exceptional flooring repertoire.”

Lithocrete is a patented architectural concrete paving system that utilizes and combines the structural properties of reinforced concrete and the aesthetic quality of surface-seeded aggregates. In addition, Lithocrete is environmentally-friendly in using recycled materials.

In addition, the company, which has worked with terrazzo flooring for more than 20 years, recently received two 2009 Honor Awards from the National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association (NTMA) for its outstanding design work at the Miami International Airport South Terminal and the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

Previously, NTMA honored Artistic Surfaces for its exceptional work at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, in Miami. The company was also recently awarded the contract for the interior floor application to be performed in an exquisite terrazzo application using recycled materials for the Orlando Event Center, “Home of the Magic,” in Orlando, and is considering using Lithocrete in the hardscape portion of the project.
