Artist Starts Arts & Youth-Based Non-Profit Organization

Crime, violence and out-of-wedlock pregnacies among youth are at an all time high during the summer months every year. Youth usually either do not have anything to fill up their time or their parents do not have the funds to send them to summer camp. Actress and author Jennifer Black decides to decrease the high statistics of violence, crime and teen pregnancy among youth with a summer arts camp

(1888PressRelease) May 07, 2007 - Jennifer E. Black, better known to many as Cockie--a suicidal pregnant teen from The Angel Project Outreach ISSUES: We All Have Them!--and most recently-known for her new poetry book and performances from A Healing Tree for all Nations, is on a mission to establish a spiritual revival and cultural awareness and social change through arts, media and entertainment. She has accomplishes this through her events, workshops, outreaches, books, and productions. Jennifer hasn't been acting lately because she has been busy with ministry work within the arts and working with youth.

"Part of the reason for the moral decline and breakdown in the family structure is highly influenced by the arts, media, and entertainment. It is the duty of every Christian to pray for Hollywood which is the cultural mecca for the entire world, but to support Christian artists who are in the arts, media and entertainment missions field" says Jennifer regarding the focus of The End Times Arts Movement International and its workshops and 2007 summer Urban Youth Summer Camp being held in Little Rock at Dee Brown Library.

"We are thrilled about starting this youth camp this year since last year we had Teens Movie Day," Jennifer says. Approximately 100 youth are expected to participate in this exciting three-day workshop of fun, informational workshops including opportunities to interact with some of America's most prominent speakers, authors, performers, singers, and artists while being able to showcase their own talents. "Many youth are being negatively influenced by the arts, media and entertainment. We want to show them that they don't have to do everything that they see on TV. They can express themselves artistically in ways that will allow to vent some emotional issues and allow them to flow in their God-given abilities!" Jennifer expresses about her commitment to do her part.

The mission of this non-profit is to educate and empower young people (ages 12-30 years) with services that will equip them to improve their quality of life. The goal is to establish educate through workshops, empower youth, promote moral values, and to provide job opportunities to artists.

Urban Youth Arts Camp activities will include: workshops in the areas of Dance, Acting, Business, Writing, and Music; handouts, fun games, giveaways, and audition opportunities.
