  • (1888PressRelease) July 14, 2009 - Beijing's Hotel G, along with the art community in Beijing, is helping change the perception of China to a country where artistic expression is treasured.

The designer boutique hotel is also finding that the niche approach is paying off, with excellent booking rates and a high percentage of rooms filled with art-oriented tourists. Hotel G's decor is unique, with a focus on rich, warm colors instead of standard neutrals, original art prints in many rooms, lush fabrics and a unique façade that lights up at night, where guests can choose their own window color.

There have been several successful art exhibitions held recently, quite close to the boutique hotel in Beijing, including British artist JMW Turner's Oils and Watercolors exhibition and 'The 48 Hour Film Project'.

Several events were launched on June 20, including:Photographer Anais Martane' s 'Portraits of Beijing' exhibition
WassinkLundren's 'Empty Bottles' photography exhibition Wang Chuan's 'The 8 Great Sites of Beijing', a panoramic photography display

"Hotel G's main purpose is not just to accommodate, but to inspire", said Marc Bichet, the hotel's director of sales and marketing. "Speaking to our guests, at the moment we are seeing many people staying here for the exhibitions. It is the most fitting boutique hotel in Beijing for art lovers".

The culmination of the separate events over June, July and August will be the 12th Beijing International Art Fair, held at the China World Trade Center. Mr Bichet said of the event "We expect to see quite a surge in numbers in the lead up to the International Art Fair, and we've already had some early bookings".

"The event is free is you download a pass before the 25th of August, and only RMB30 to purchase at the door. The great value activities will help people pay for quality Beijing accommodation", Mr. Bichet finished.

The newly opened Hotel G Beijing is a stylish and exciting new addition to Beijing boutique hotel scene.

With a striking entrance and façade which transforms into an explosion of colored lights by night (hotel guests can actually select their own window lighting), the 110-room hotel is located in Gong Ti Xi Lu close to a host of popular eateries and nightspots in the City’s lively Sanlitun district.

A conversion of an existing building, Hotel G Beijing has been designed by talented British architect/designer Mark Lintott (www.mld.tw) who is well known for his daring and innovative interior design projects, notably of leading entertainment venues, in his adopted home in Taiwan.

The 1960’s inspired rooms and suites feature a casual blend of understated glamour and low-key opulence such as red velvet hanging sofas and contemporary Chinese touches. Amenities include high-speed wireless internet, iPod docking and plasma TV with multi-national channels.

Hotel G Beijing is the first of an exclusive boutique hotel brand launched by Hong Kong-based real estate private equity management firm Gaw Capital – and a model to be rolled out in selected cities throughout Asia.
