In announcing the move, ABC Managing Director, Robert Roth, Ph.D. stated “Arizona is at the epicenter of America’s small business revolution and, serving 3,000 small business members . . . the Arizona Small Business Association is at the epicenter of Arizona business. Because we provide exit strategy simulations and exit coaching to small businesses, this relocation just makes sense.”
Dr. Roth also pointed out that the Arizona private business universe is experiencing remarkable growth because:
• During 2007, Arizona replaced Nevada as America’s fastest growing state.
• Small business is the engine that powers Arizona’s economy. Small businesses account for 97% of all employer businesses in Arizona.
• There is nothing small about a small business. As defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration, a small business may have up to 1,500 employees and annual sales of as much as $35,000,000.
• The vigor of the Arizona economy is attracting third-party investment for small and mid-size businesses and lenders (particularly SBA lenders) are making multi-million dollars loans to small businesses both in Arizona and nationwide.
• Small business owners are becoming increasingly sophisticated using inexpensive technologies to run exit strategy simulations and to both prepare their businesses for sale and manage their own selling transaction.
