The Sports Agent profession is an extremely difficult profession to break into, but do not mention that to female sports agent Alice Meikle, because she truly believes that she represents her clients as well, or even better than her male counterparts. She is a skilled negotiator, a manager, a mentor and a life coach to all of her clients. This off season alone she has negotiated over twenty player contracts for Arena Football and she is gearing up for the Canadian free agency period. My clients seem to be happy she said, because majority of her clientele is based in referral. Arena football agents are not a popular as the NFL agents for the mere fact that there is a big difference in the paycheck for the agent. Alice is one of these agents who came to the industry to clear the myth about agents and their greed for money. She is very proud of her AFL clients, and although one day she hopes top get that number one draft pick, she remains fired up about AFL. She also has clients in the CFL and is equally vested in the efforts to help these athlete make it to the big stage.
Sport Agent Alice Meikle is a former Litigation Paralegal, whose love for dealing with people and passion for sports have led her to switch her career. When her friends and business colleagues found out that she was making a career change, they all gave her the thumbs up, knowing that Alice and the Sports Agent business would be a perfect fit. Alice’s years of experience working in Sports & Entertainment Law, Sport Administration, Sport Event Planning, Marketing and Public Relations helped to propel her into to the business, and her “no fear” attitude will help her to knock on all the right doors for her clients. Alice believes that athletes are truly gifted people, who need agents that are smart, trustworthy and connected in the business. She is a firm believer in the “off the field” involvement for her clients, and is very passionate about helping her clients to give back to their communities. Over the years, her involvement as a volunteer and consultant with several sporting organizations and sporting events, both nationally and locally, has given her the opportunity to expand on her knowledge of the sports business and operational standpoint.
Alice currently serves as Executive Committee Member for the Orange Bowl Volunteer Ambassadors, Committee Chairperson of the Annual Orange Bowl Festivities, and a PGA of America Volunteer. She is drawn to the Sport Agent Business, as she feels that, there is a need to build strong relationships with the players, by helping to polish their images, identify post career opportunities, acting as a liaison between coaches, players, and families, and by providing other resources including but not limited to contract negotiation, endorsements/sponsorships and post career planning. Her clients list includes Michael Bishop, Spergon Wynn, Anthony Hines, Josh Bush, Alex Wallace, Idris Pryce, Carl Bond, Johnnie Harris, Steve Gonzalez, Antwone Savage, Peter Lazare, David Crocker, Brent Holmes, Lamont Moore, Reggie Doster, Kenney Solomon, Chad Ruffin, Chaz Murphy, Paul Canning and Terrell Browden, among others.
Alice provides services to her clients in the following sports – Football, Golf, Tennis, and Basketball. As a former Publicist and Public Relations professional, Alice is always the first to tell you that there is no better way to advertise than by word of mouth. Her clients are all content with the level of professionalism and integrity that she brings to the table.
Most of her clientele are based upon referral. This upcoming season, Alice will be send on several arenas in the AFL cheering on her clients. She has always wanted to help the athletes from smaller schools get on to the bigger stage, and this is just a start for her. Having competed in sports during high school, Alice believes in competition, she is driven, determined and fearless about this sporting business and will fight for each player like he/she is a No. 1 draft pick. An avid golfer, Alice resides in Miami, Florida with her son Jordan, 15 and daughter Ashleigh, 13.
