June 19, 2008 - Fort Lauderdale Fl. ― Skyrocketing gas prices, food prices and just prices in general have put a serious pinch on a number of Florida families who are struggling to get by.
With the end of the school year right around the corner, many parents are scrambling to figure out how they're going to pay for a summer vacation.
Lisa Hergert, who runs the Fort Lauderdale Florida based Florida Getaway Vacations, Inc., said this point was brought home to her when her 11-year old daughter talked to friends who weren't going anywhere this summer because their families couldn't afford it.
So Hergert said she decided to help not just her daughter's friends, but many families who are in the same predicament. A part of Collender & Hergert's travel business is representing resorts and condos that offer timeshares.
After contacting her clients, she came up with 7 thousand 3 day/2 night vacations in Orlando, Daytona and Ft. Lauderdale that she could give away for free. So that's what she's going to do.
From June 15th through June 30th, Hergert & Collender says anyone who calls will receive a free mini-vacation without having to attend the usual sales or timeshare "presentations." There are some restrictions, however.
The free vacations are only good for the resorts her company represents in Orlando, Daytona and Fort Lauderdale Fl. While sign up is from June 15th – 30th, the vacation trip must be used before the start of the new school year in the fall.
