Currently the wine writer for the Santa Barbara News-Press, he is also the author of “Vintage Talk: Conversations with California’s New Winemakers” and “Touring the California Wine Country.” Over the years Schaefer has contributed wine columns to numerous publications including WESTWAYS, AAA Magazine, LA Style, LA Reader, Savor, The Wine News and Winetoday.com .
