Heading up this department are two specialists, Patty Raz and Emily Standen, who have a decade of combined social media experience. Raz has created and implemented programs for such large-name companies as adidas America and holds a degree in public relations from the University of Oregon. Standen has a strong background in journalism and has worked in the fashion and entertainment industries, namely for publications such as InStyle and Elle. She holds a degree in English and Spanish from Willamette University.
Social media is a rapidly expanding phenomenon that allows companies to converse with millions of previously untargeted consumers. According to Facebook.com, Facebook currently has 250 million users. If Facebook were a country, it would be the 4th largest in the world, after China, India and the United States.
Paredes said his team will have an advantage in this massive industry because of their extensive knowledge of SEO and online technologies.
