| Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary was first established in 1969 when dairy land was revegetated with native trees and shrubs to attract native animals and birds. In 1982 the 35 acres was enclosed with feral-proof fencing. Once the fence was completed, the bird populations flourished and the release of many native animals began. Today, Warrawong is home to 100 species of birds and many native mammals. Warrawong offers a unique opportunity to get amongst the Australian bush and wildlife in a protected habitat. Being just 25 minutes from Adelaide, learning about Australia’s endangered wildlife has never been easier! |
