April 06, 2008 - Since 1992, the 100 Black Men of North Metro, Inc., a local chapter of the 100 Black Men of America, has followed its mission of motivating and enabling youth to achieve intellectual excellence, economic responsibility and self sufficiency as positive contributors to society. The North Metro Chapter specifically serves youth in Gwinnett and Cobb and North Fulton counties. The organization’s programs focus primarily on youth, creating mentoring situations and activities that give deserving youth opportunities to succeed. The 100 Black Men of North Metro, Inc. has created programs which provide an environment where young people are encouraged and motivated to learn and achieve. Each member serves as a strong Black role model for our youth in today’s society. Our Four the Future programs are the strategic areas of focus that supports the mission of the organization. Subject areas encompass Mentoring, Economic Development, Education and Health & Wellness.
Building trust among young black men with examples of positive relationships is the 100’s focus as it delivers programs for African American youth.
The 100 Black Men of North Metro, Inc. proudly announces the Annual Youth Achievement Luncheon. The Luncheon will be held at the Omni Hotel at the CNN Center, 190 Marietta Street, N.W. Atlanta. The Luncheon will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. More than 500 students, families and sponsors and supporters are expected to participate. The Annual Youth Achievement Luncheon is the 100’s largest event of the year. It serves as the culmination ceremony for the class of 2008 including scholarship distribution. It is also the venue for recognition of scholars who have excelled in the Men of Tomorrow Program in regard to attendance, participation, academic performance and special recognition.
We are very proud of our students, the staff and our host of volunteer supporters that continue to work diligently to expose our students to workshops, programs, professionals and businesses in an effort to promote greatness.
