September 19, 2008 - Palo Alto, CA: According to Anderson Honda, the 2008 Honda FCX Clarity is a four-door four-passenger car with a cruising capacity of about 280 miles. Its emissions are only water vapors.
Built on the entirely-new Honda V Flow fuel cell platform, the FCX Clarity is powered by a highly powerful and efficient Honda V flow fuel cell stack. This hydrogen powered fuel cell vehicle is propelled by an electric motor that runs on electricity. The electric motor delivers 127 horsepower and it can generate more electricity than needed to power all the gadgetry found in the vehicle. Fuel efficiency of the 2008 Honda FCX Clarity is three times that of a modern gasoline-powered vehicle. The FCX Clarity is estimated to have a fuel efficiency of 79/68 mpg (City/Highway). It features a narrow body to house its unique powertrain. Inside, it offers a limousine-like cabin volume with its vertical flow fuel cell stack that fits within the center console. A climate control system within the seats minimizes energy use by regulating the temperature at the surface of the occupants.
The FCX Clarity is a marvel in technological advancement. It truly does bring the future to today. The FCX Clarity is only available on a limited release of 200
