Americans Dig Earworms!

US #1 Language Learning Tool Gets Imbedded in Listener's Ears.

(1888PressRelease) May 09, 2008 - Los Angeles, CA - A whole new can of worms has been opened in North America with a revolutionary language learning tool, Earworms Musical Brain TrainerT (MBT), on audio CD or as download using this concept to mentally "drill" foreign languages into the listener's head. Earworms allow a person to learn a new language with minimal effort-just in time for summer vacation! Earworms uses catchy music paired with foreign languages to exploit more of the brain's native power for accelerated learning, a "trick" used for decades in marketing products by means of advertising jingles.

With thousands of Americans expected to travel abroad this year, Earworms provides a fun and easy way to pick up a new language on the go. Travelers can listen to the CD on the plane, in the car, at the gym or simply around the house as they are preparing for their trip. "An airplane can really be the ideal setting for the listener," says co-founder Andrew Lodge. "Earworms was originally designed with the traveler in mind, choosing phrases that are most commonly used in everday situations."

Since its European launch in 2004, Earworms has seen incredible success both in terms of sales and customer satisfaction. In fact, the audio-book has routinely ranked #1 for downloads in the U.S., U.K. and Australia often outselling popular titles such as "The Da Vinci Code," and was named an iTunes Top 5 Non-Fiction Best-Seller in 2007, alongside "The Secret," "Stephen Colbert" and NPR's "This American Life."

Recent scientific research has pinpointed the auditory cortex as the part of the brain which stores sounds, melodies, and spoken words. Course author, Marlon Lodge, paired language with rhythmic beats to develop this simple, yet highly effective technique of exploiting the brain's natural ability to learn through repetition. "Music is an ideal medium for learning," he says. "It gets to deeper subconscious levels of your memory, and most people really enjoy it because you feel as though you're just listening to music, when in actuality you are taking in verbs, nouns and connecting words, while picking up the correct accent!"

There are currently two CDs per foreign language, with follow on courses in the pipeline: volume 1 covers the words needed for an initial trip abroad such as ordering in a restaurant, asking for directions, dealing with problems, shopping, numbers, telling the time, etc. At the same time a number of useful grammatical structures are taught. Volume 2 covers how to talk about yourself, your family, your job, your likes and dislikes, as well as the past, present and future and phrases that enable a conversation.
More than 16 language titles are currently available and being distributed nationwide by Berlitz (Langenscheidt Publishing Group).
