October 24, 2008 - The American Diabetes Association will honor Scott Hartman at the Live the Good Life Gala on November 6, 2008 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. Mr. Hartman is the co-founder and Managing Director of SeaView Capital Advisors, a private equity firm that specializes in equity and mezzanine investments into profitable small and mid-size privately held businesses.
Mr. Hartman has led or co-led 25 investments and has produced internal rates of returns for investors in excess of 40% per year since 1992. Mr. Hartman and SeaView concentrate on investing in gaming, business service, financial service, and manufacturing companies.
“Mr. Hartman has been involved in the fight against diabetes since 1998,” says Toni Hansen, Executive Director of the American Diabetes Association of Greater New York. “The 2008 Live the Good Life Gala we will recognize Mr. Hartman’s philanthropic contributions and dedication to eliminate diabetes from our communities.”
The Gala will feature a tribute to Mr. Hartman and two additional honorees: Dr. Peter Sheehan and Dr. Van Dunn, both are endocrinologists. The Live the Good Life Gala will raise funds for the American Diabetes Association, which is the nation’s leading organization supporting diabetes research, information, and advocacy. Diabetes has grown to epidemic proportions – nearly 24 million American children and adults have diabetes.
Tickets are available now at www.diabetes.org/ltgl, proceeds from ticket sales and silent auction that evening will go towards research, local programs and advocacy efforts. The event is a fundraiser for the ADA and an opportunity to honor the work many have done in the area of diabetes care.
