Dark Highland Green exterior paintwork with Dark Charcoal leather interior evokes nostalgic memories of the original movie car. More horsepower with 315 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque out of the latest 4.6 V-8 engine with a sporty 5-speed manual transmission topped with an aluminium shifter ball specially made for the Bullitt gets you on the move. A sport-tuned, modified chassis and suspension improves an already competent and capable car to give you the most balanced and well poised Mustang ever. It must be 40 years after the film hit the screen and immortalised the name Frank Bullitt with “that” car chase that re-defined the word “car chase”, no film since has managed to produce a car chase of such epic proportions that it has or would be talked about with so much enthusiasm forty years later.
The Mustang’s live rear axle uses a unique 3.73:1 gear that helps propel the Bullitt with the minimum amount of fuss and the maximum amount of grunt and noise which is music to your ears, Ford engineers cleverly matched the sound of the new car to the original movie car using re-mastered DVD’s.
Standard Mustang GT shock absorbers and struts were changed for new equipment that allowed engineers to dial in a more aggressive driving experience while still maintaining the excellent ride and balance of the base Mustang GT. An engine bay strut brace designed specifically for the Bullitt adds additional lateral strength for improved cornering and has the unique serial number for each car.
Brakes have also been improved over the standard car with more aggressive front pads that were developed specifically for Bullitt, these were designed to improve fade resistance and pedal feel.
The 2008 Mustang Bullitt is shod with unique cast-aluminum classic style wheels with Dark Argent Gray. Brake calipers are coloured to match the wheel. The wheels are covered in BF Goodrich P235/50ZR 18 g-Force T/A KDWS tyres.
