November 13, 2008 - Unique Diaton Tonometer was presented at American Academy of Ophthalmology AAO 2008. The meeting took place at the Georgia World Congress Center. This new technology was showcased by Optimetrics Inc. - an ophthalmic equipments and instruments distributor for ophthalmologists, optometrists and optical laboratories in the United States and Latin America. Demo and training was provided.
The American Academy of Ophthalmology is the largest national membership association eye care professionals including ophthalmologists, medical and osteopathic doctors who provide comprehensive care, including medical, surgical and optical care. "Diaton tonometry" is a unique approach to measuring intraocular pressure (IOP) through the Eyelid. Non-Contact (no contact with cornea), no anesthesia or sterilization required with this pen-like, hand-held, portable tonometer.
