This book is set in medieval times when sword fights were a way for men to prove a point. This novel starts with Kendra being kidnapped by mistake. They wanted Lady Millie! When Kendra finds out more about who was behind the kidnapping, she makes an unlikely suggestion and hires her kidnapper (Adrian) to help her carefully squire Lady Millie away and out of harms way.
With ease, more than one character drops into the journey, making a tapestry of wonderful characters to enjoy from Lady Millie herself to the wizard. Meanwhile, Adrian who is trapped by a past he cannot forget or forgive himself, also can't forget Kendra. As his past rises up before him, he cannot help the way she makes him feel and want something more for himself.
