Albuquerque's Edit House Productions Wins International Award
Edit House Productions, LLC president Ed Smith has been awarded the "Platinum Best of Show" in the 2011 Aurora Awards competition for Cinematography, for a documentary filmed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
- Albuquerque, NM (1888PressRelease) February 20, 2012 - Edit House Productions, LLC's Ed Smith has been awarded the top level "Platinum Best of Show" in the 2011 Aurora Awards competition, an independent film and video international competition for commercials and documentaries.
The best of show award was in the competition for Creative Achievement in Cinematography category for the project "Mulungwishi: A United Methodist Mission". Smith traveled some 38 hours to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in April 2011 and had only 4 days in-country to complete the entire 30 minute documentary. Ed Smith began Edit House Productions, LLC in 2000. His television experience dates to 1983 and includes production management and all phases of production for Fortune 500 Companies such as Pizza Hut, Inc, Rent-A-Center, Thorn EMI, and Cessna Aircraft Corporation-- as well as hundreds of local and regional clients.
Smith previously won several Aurora Awards in 2003 for a documentary on the training of the New Mexico State Police. He has also won a number of Addy and Telly Awards for his work, and earned the Masters of Science Degree in Communication from Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas.
