"It was an honour to be asked to participate in the discussion surrounding the release of such important research findings about entrepreneurship in Alberta and the rest of Canada," said Tracey Scarlett, CEO of AWE. "At AWE, programs like our Grow to Greatness Excelerator have successfully prepared women for high growth. With Alberta being the most entrepreneurial province in Canada, and boasting the highest rate of female entrepreneurs, the growth that these women achieve will drive the Albertan economy forward in future years using talent that is already in the province."

GEM is the world's largest and oldest international study of entrepreneurship. It compares Canada with 70 other countries. In addition to Alberta, six other Canadian provinces participated in GEM 2013. Also speaking at the event will be Peter Josty, Executive Director, The Centre for Innovation Studies; and Cooper Langford, Principal Author of the GEM report.
