Al Alamia improves supply chain with Calsoft

Great Results for Egyptian Manufacturer with Dynamics Great Plains.

(1888PressRelease) June 09, 2009 - EL Masria Al Alamia for Beverages, a leading manufacturer and distributor of alcoholic beverages in Egypt, has completed the implementation of a hosted Great Plains solution resulting in improved efficiencies in Inventory Management and Materials Requirement Planning.

The Microsoft Dynamics-based solution using GP 10.0 (Great Plains) was recommended by Calsoft, integration systems specialist, to improve and automate the financial, human resource, supply chain and manufacturing processes. The first of its kind in the region, the Dynamics Great Plains implementation gives Al Alamia a unique, tailored solution with continuous updates to improve internal efficiencies and operations. The hosted solution relieves Al Alamia of headaches around managing IT applications and allows it to focus on its core businesses.

“Great Plains has streamlined our financial and distribution system for optimum client satisfaction, sales and efficiency. It was a sound financial investment,” said Wahba Eyad, Executive Manager, Al Alamia. “The system was implemented in two phases to minimize disruption to existing orders and operations ensuring we were supplying a high level service to our customers.”

“Al Alamia was keen to identify the right partner to implement and host Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and co-locate its GP server in a data centre, for high availability and maintenance,” said Ravi Sankar, Head of Microsoft Practice, Calsoft. “The implemented solution is now used across three locations including the factory and offices. Our Managed Applications Centre will perform day-to-day management of the systems handling security and updates.”

Calsoft co-located the GP server in a data centre for this implementation, providing firewall services with server access control policies. Implementation of an anti virus solution for the hosted server, with periodic updates was part of the solution provided to Al Alamia.

Over a three-year contract, Calsoft will monitor the health of the hosted server in terms of CPU, memory and processor usage and provide weekly reports on the health and performance of the hosted server. Patch updates and periodic maintenance will be provided to ensure continuous improvement.
