January 17, 2009 - Affiniti Architects has completed concepts for an 80- room, 26,000-square-foot eco-lodge on 15 acres within the Big Cypress Everglades area of Florida.
The buildings will be grouped to form a village with special architectural structures that encompass a restaurant, spa, reception and meeting areas. They will be constructed with a “chicki” roof and structural accents anchored by native, recycled stone. All services required will be compatible with LEED certification and good sustainable design practices.
A series of 44 freestanding villas will be arranged in clusters named for Seminole tribes. All traditional vehicles will be kept at the reception area, making all lodge access by pedestrian or non-traditional vehicles only.
