August 29, 2009 - GAO Tek Inc. (www.GAOTek.com) has announced the availability of its high performance Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) . This well-designed optical instrument is intended for engineers and technicians to measure unit, connection or transmission loss and locate faults or breaks in fiber optics. The Mini-OTDR is widely deployed in the manufacturing, construction and maintenance of fiber optics networks.
This rugged mini-OTDR features a high dynamic range ensuring accurate signal processing and a short event dead zone. It has a large color LCD screen to clearly display signal analysis results. The high performance OTDR reads and writes files in Bellcore GR196 file format, and offers a large memory capacity for data storage; the data can be transmitted to a PC by a serial or parallel interface; a USB interface is also provided for data transmission. The OTDR continuously operates for over eight hours when it is completely charged and displays the battery levels accordingly.
