Advanced Concrete Technologies Supports Our Future Leaders by Investing in Education

Advanced Concrete Technologies maintains its commitment to supporting the future leaders in the concrete industry during the current challenging economic time.

(1888PressRelease) May 02, 2009 - Greenland, NH – Advanced Concrete Technologies (ACT) has affirmed its commitment to maintaining its position as a Gold contributor to the NPCA Educational Foundation’s Endowment Campaign, called the Foundation for the Future.

ACT initially pledged a total amount of $50,000 to the campaign, and is actively maintaining its $10,000 per year contribution. “While we initially made our pledge to the NPCAEF and the campaign two years ago when the economy was actively growing, we now feel it is more important than ever to continue our support even in these challenging times,” explained Max Hoene, President of ACT. “Our industry needs talented new blood to help it persevere in an evolving business climate. The funds raised from the campaign make it possible for students interested in the building and construction fields to get needed tuition help, to make their studies possible.”

ACT’s support of the NPCAEF is just one component in the company’s strong, ongoing support of the North American concrete products industry. In recent years, significant donations have included a full-scale mixing and batching system to the Civil Engineering Materials Lab at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) in Durham, and a similar mixing and batching plant to the Alpena Community College World Center for Concrete Technology (WCCT).

The ACT donations of a high intensity Wiggert HPGM Countercurrent Mixers to UNH and WCCT is allowing students to gain essential hands-on experience working with a modern industrial concrete production system.

"UNH through its civil engineering department has a long history of encouraging students and graduate students to explore the boundaries of what's possible in the realm of concrete research. To stay relevant, colleges and universities must simulate the same mixing technology used in the concrete industry. Our donation of Wiggert Countercurrent mixers is enabling hands-on experience that will advance concrete quality, applications, and technologies in addition to helping students solve challenges on the job someday,” added Max Hoene.

Advanced Concrete Technologies, Inc., the American division of Wiggert + Co. and Würschum GmbH, is a single source supplier of turnkey concrete mixing, batching, and automatic color metering systems that draws on over 45 years of experience and more than 4,500 installations worldwide. The company’s equipment and plant designs are renowned for producing superior consistent quality concrete. The firm’s plants are designed to provide reliable, efficient, and safe operation with maximum flexibility allowing concrete product producers to be up and running faster, and with greater profitability. The company recently launched an industry first P3 Plant Operator Training Program that ensures plant equipment is operating at peak performance.
