April 06, 2007 - The ‘FUN’draising Silent Art Auction is presented by the 2007 Edge Freedom Team of the ADDvantage Learning Academy and co-sponsored by the Rogue Buddha Gallery.
A one-of-a-kind collector’s piece that will be available in the silent auction is a Fender Telecaster guitar autographed and donated by Sheryl Crow! More than 50 works by local, national and international artists will be auctioned through a silent bidding process. Artists represented this year include Rick Nordstrom, pastels; Joy Baer, fresco; Andre' Gambino, oil painter; Jill Zimmer, acrylic painter; Christine Hankins, oil painter; Amy Rice, an artist from Bath, England and Jan Bilek, potter.
Proceeds from the auction, one of the school’s most important fund-raising events, will support the ADDvantage Learning Academy (ALA), charter school that creates an extraordinary learning environment where every student’s unique potential is fully realized. Sue Lindgren, founder, notes that ALA will be a “very innovative school based on brain-based learning instead of sit and ‘git’.” The ADDvantage Learning Academy is scheduled to open Fall 2008.
The event, which includes wine, cheese, special martinis and music, is open to the public. Bidders need not be present to make a bid. For details, contact Timothy Schlamp at (612) 558-8315 or email him at Trompefaux ( @ ) aol dot com dot
