San Francisco, CA (1888PressRelease) November 27, 2006 - Actress and stand-up comedian Judy Dixon (“The Talent Given Us”) is coming out in the upcoming gay romantic comedy “Coffee Date” opening in San Francisco, CA at the Landmark’s Embarcadero Center Cinema on Friday, December 8th, 2006.

“Coffee Date” has been an audience favorite at film festivals and is currently playing in Los Angeles, CA and will also open for a limited release in cities including Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, Atlanta, Chicago and New York.

Written and directed by Stewart Wade, “Coffee Date” is a romantic comedy of errors about a straight man, Todd (Jonathan Bray) whose life spins out of control when an unexpected friendship with Kelly, (Wilson Cruz “My So Called Life”) a gay man, causes everyone in his life to believe he too is gay.

Judy plays Todd’s co-worker, Ann, a sassy character at a happy hour outing. Judy’s rapid-salvo delivery and enchanting performance has reaped huge laughs from film festival audiences nationwide. Judy received critical praise from Debbie Elias, a film critic for the Santa Monica Observer as “One to watch” when the film premiered at the 2006 Outfest.

Judy just wrapped on two horror films “Pashittu”, directed by Ian Harris and “Negative Space”, directed by Kevin Abosch. She can be seen in the award-winning independent film “The Talent Given Us” directed by Andrew Wagner, which is currently playing on the Sundance Channel and available on Netflix.

A favorite on the comedy circuit, Judy performs and co-produces along with Andrew Hunt, the popular weekly stand-up show in Hollywood called 'Comedy Cake Lounge', which is a semi-improvised show where well known and up and coming stand-up comedians create new material on the spot with the help of audience suggestions.

“Coffee Date” stars Jonathan Silverman, Sally Kirkland, Elaine Hendrix, Jason Stuart, Deborah Gibson and Lisa Ann Walter. Film is produced by Cindy Peters, executive produced by Antonio Brown. Film and Music Entertainment, Inc. is distributing the film.
