April 10, 2009 - Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. (www.GAORFID.com). This compact tag is specially designed for asset tagging applications on metallic surfaces or plastics containing high metal content such as found in laptops, IT equipment, vehicles and transport media.
This low power consumption tag is powered by an internal battery and transmits a radio frequency signal at pre-set time-intervals for the duration of its life. The tag life is estimated to be 5 years at a transmission time interval of 1.5 seconds. Battery status can be inferred by interrogating the internal Tag Age Counter Value. The active tag boasts configurable settings, including Site/Vendor ID, Tag ID, Transmission, Repetition Interval and Alarm functions. It is compatible with the following RFID Readers – GAO-214001, GAO-4015, GAO214016, and GAO-214013. Encapsulated in a molded plastic case, it withstands harsh environments.
