ACT Today's 3rd Annual Golf Tournament Benefits Underprivileged Children with Autism

Autism Care and Treatment announces its annual golf tournament will press forward thanks to the generosity of corporate sponsors.


Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) March 28, 2009 - Autism Care and Treatment (ACT-Today!) will host its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser on May 18th, 2009 at Braemar Country Club in Tarzana, California.

"We are delighted to still be able to host this event despite the financial woes so many of us are enduring across the nation," says Stefan de Nocker, Tournament Director and ACT- Today! Boardmember. "The corporate sponsors and players are all very generous to reach out during the nation’s economic crisis and help the children with autism whose families can not afford the much needed autism services."

1 in 150 children is diagnosed with autism. Autism is the fastest-growing development disability in the U.S. Autism costs the nation over $35 billion a year, a figure expected to increase in the next decade, according to www.autismspeaks.org.

The 18-hole tournament begins at 9:30am with breakfast, followed by a Putting Contest (10:30am) and Shotgun Start (11:00am). Sponsorships for teams of four ($800) are available for the May 18th tournament. Golfers are also welcome to register as individual participants ($250).

A wide range of both team and skill-related prizes will be awarded, along with and 50/50 raffle and other prizes and gifts during the evening’s dinner gala. ACT Today! wishes to thank Tournament Dinner Hosts Actor/Director Lou Diamond Phillips and Los Angeles Newswoman Gabriela Tessier.
