April 22, 2009 - Academy Ford recently announced that they have joined forces with Ford Motor Company in an effort to fight Breast Cancer. Beginning on April 21, 2009 and ending on June 1, 2009, Academy Ford and Ford Motor Company will each donate $20 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for every registered new vehicle test drive that takes place at Academy Ford.
During a recent interview, Vice-President Mike Lynch said “Several members of the Academy Ford family have been directly affected by breast cancer and our goal is to raise awareness about the importance of early detection. In the past, we have been honored to sponsor several employees who participate in local Relay for Life events but this gives us an opportunity to increase the fundraising efforts that directly benefit the Maryland area.”
Individuals can register at the www.FordCares.com website in order to obtain a registration number and form. They can then visit Academy Ford to test drive any new Ford vehicle and validate the registration. Upon completion, individuals will receive a confirmation email that reflects the donations made on their behalf by Academy Ford and Ford Motor Company.
