October 17, 2007 - Even in this down-turned economy Abracadabra Hot Tub Covers & Spa Covers has found difficulty keeping up with the demand for their high quality spa covers. In addition to running double work shifts, they have now added a second computerized DCS 2500 GERBERcutter system. This makes for a total of five automated machines, three of which are computerized fabric cutters. The DCS 2500 GERBERcutter is a computer automated, high speed CnC cutting system capable of cutting vinyl and other materials for a spa cover at a rate of 225 feet per minute, with accuracy to within a few thousandths of an inch.
Using proprietary software, Abracadabra Hot Tub Covers & Spa Covers creates an individual cutting program for each spa cover within 90 seconds of receiving an order. This program is then sent to the DCS 2500 GERBERcutter, where upon it's 48 feet long and over 6 feet wide cutting table, up to 67 individual pieces of vinyl and scrim for a spa cover are cut with precisional accuracy in less than 5 minutes. In addition to cutting the 67 pieces of material, the DCS 2500 GERBERcutter also adds up to 204 indicator marks to the pieces in order to assist and direct sewers for perfect assembly.
