March 06, 2007 - A new marketplace ministry website just for working women was launched today. Honoring the Great Commission and Proverbs 31:13, which declares that “She . . . works with eager hands,” God’s Love @ Work for Women seeks to strengthen God’s beloved working women through testimonies, tips and inspiring products. In intimate style, this fresh website’s departments feature:
A Woman’s Walk Weekly Devotional – A verse of scripture and a shared testimony from God’s Love @ Work founder Margaret D. Mitchell, designed to start the working woman’s week off right.
Woman to Woman Column – Fortifying testimonies from a variety of working women contributors, designed to encourage and strengthen women’s workplace walk.
Coffee Chat – A sister-to-sister platform to share Godly wisdom concerning the unique challenges women face in their work environments.
Business Travel Blog – News and practical tips geared towards making travel more enjoyable.
Just in time for the spring season, God’s Love @ Work for Women sprouted when founder and president Margaret D. Mitchell perused other marketplace ministry websites and saw a need to address challenges concerning female workers. “It’s not that women are intentionally excluded,” says Mitchell, “it’s just that women are unique, and there’s so much more to address.”
Mitchell speaks from experience. She, herself, was a flight attendant for 16 years, a journey that often left her feeling disconnected from family, church and other Christian activities. She realized the need firsthand to reach out to God’s beloved working women, no matter what season of life they are in.
Mothers, both single and married; young single women; married women, abandoned middle-aged wives; divorced women and widows of all ages need an income. “I believe that Jesus,” says Mitchell, “being our first husband and provider, would reach out to them with great compassion and strengthen them to walk in His love and to share that love within their families and in the marketplace.
This is what God’s Love @ Work for Women facilitates.”
